Transliteration

tasya taṃ niścayaṃ jñātvā sarvadevasamāvṛtaḥ | viśvāmitro'pi tadrūpaṃ cakāra duścaraṃ tapaḥ

Translation

Als man seinen festen Entschluss erkannte, und während alle Götter ihn umgaben, nahm auch Viśvāmitra in eben dieser Weise eine strenge, schwer zu vollbringende Askese auf, seinem Gelübde gemäß.
