परित्यक्ष्याम्यहं देहं यास्ये वाऽहं द्विजन्मताम् । तच्छ्रुत्वा वचनं तस्य देवराजो दिवं गतः

Transliteration

parityakṣyāmyahaṃ dehaṃ yāsye vā'haṃ dvijanmatām | tacchrutvā vacanaṃ tasya devarājo divaṃ gataḥ

Translation

„Ich werde diesen Leib verlassen, oder ich werde den Stand des Zweimalgeborenen (Brahmanen) erlangen.“ Als der Götterkönig diesen Entschluss hörte, ging er gen Himmel.
