Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 15

कृष्णार्जुनौ तदा मर्त्ये द्वापरांते द्विजोत्तमाः । अवतीर्णो धरापृष्ठे मिथः स्नेहानुगौ तदा । नरनारायणावेतौ स्वयमेव व्यवस्थितौ

kṛṣṇārjunau tadā martye dvāparāṃte dvijottamāḥ | avatīrṇo dharāpṛṣṭhe mithaḥ snehānugau tadā | naranārāyaṇāvetau svayameva vyavasthitau

O ihr erhabensten Brāhmaṇen, am Ende des Dvāpara-Zeitalters stiegen Kṛṣṇa und Arjuna in die Welt der Sterblichen herab, auf die Oberfläche der Erde, einander durch Zuneigung verbunden. Diese beiden—Nara und Nārāyaṇa—standen so aus eigenem Antrieb offenbart da.
