Andhaka
Type: temple
Listener: Śrī Devī
Scene: Andhaka petitions that devotees who meditate on the Goddess in this very form and establish her image for worship should receive their heart’s desired attainments.
Sincere meditation and devoted worship—especially after establishing the deity’s image—are presented as direct causes for receiving heart-desired spiritual attainments.
The verse occurs in Nāgara Khaṇḍa’s Tīrthamāhātmya (Adhyāya 150), within the praise of the local Devī tradition associated with Kelīśvarī/“Kelīśvara Devī.”
Pratimā-saṃsthāpana (installation of the deity’s image), followed by pūjā with sadbhakti and dhyāna (meditation).
