Type: kshetra
Listener: Brāhmaṇas of the kṣetra
Scene: The Lord declares that the brāhmaṇas will bring in men designated ‘Āmuṣyāyaṇa’, who will reside perpetually in the kṣetra and render śrāddha fruits inexhaustible; the kṣetra is shown as a living sacred enclosure with shrines and ritual platforms.
When qualified custodians remain established in a sacred kṣetra, ancestral rites performed there yield enduring (akṣayya) spiritual benefit.
A particular ‘kṣetra’ is praised as the locus of akṣayya śrāddha merit, but its proper name is not present in this verse alone.
Śrāddha is central: the verse states that the rite’s fruit becomes akṣayya (inexhaustible) in that kṣetra through these designated brāhmaṇas.
