Type: kshetra
Listener: mahābhāga (noble seeker) addressed directly
Scene: A noble seeker is instructed by a sage: the world appears bound by guṇas like cords; before them stands the Liṅga, and the cords loosen as offerings are made—flowers, water, bilva leaves.
Since bondage arises through guṇas and their dissolution is in the Supreme, reverent Liṅga worship is presented as a liberating path.
Within Kedārakhaṇḍa, the instruction supports worship at Kedāra and other Śiva-kṣetras where the Liṅga is central.
Prapūjā (earnest worship) of the Śiva Liṅga is prescribed.
