Transliteration

sārajijñāsayā tasthāvekāṃguṣṭhaḥ śataṃ samāḥ | tataḥ provāca taṃ divyā vāṇī kātyāyana śrṛṇu

Translation

In der Sehnsucht, das wahre Wesen zu erkennen, stand er hundert Jahre lang im Gleichgewicht auf einem einzigen Zeh. Da sprach eine göttliche Stimme zu ihm: „Kātyāyana, höre!“
