Wenn man nicht die Kraft hat, das Gelübde während aller vier Monate zu halten, so soll man es wenigstens im Monat Ūrja (Kārtika) üben, wenn man die Frucht eines ganzen Jahres begehrt.
Skanda
Tirtha: Ūrja/Kārtika-māsa in Kāśī (contextual)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A devotee looking at a four-month vrata calendar, then focusing on a highlighted Kārtika month; lamps line the ghats; the sky is clear autumn blue; the message: ‘do at least this month’.
When full practice is not possible, sincere minimum observance—especially in Kārtika—still grants great merit.
The verse sits within Kāśīkhaṇḍa’s Kāśī-centered dharma teaching; the focus here is chiefly the glory of Kārtika (Ūrja).
If four-month observance is impossible, undertake the vow at least during Ūrja/Kārtika to obtain year-like fruit.
