प्रयागस्य गुणान्ज्ञात्वा शिवशर्मा द्विजः सुधीः । तत्र माघमुष्त्वाऽथ प्राप वाराणसीं पुरीम्
prayāgasya guṇānjñātvā śivaśarmā dvijaḥ sudhīḥ | tatra māghamuṣtvā'tha prāpa vārāṇasīṃ purīm
Nachdem der weise Brahmane Śivaśarmā die Vorzüge von Prayāga erkannt hatte, verweilte er dort den Monat Māgha; danach erreichte er die Stadt Vārāṇasī.
