Skanda Purana — Kashi Khanda, Shloka 95

लक्षणानि परीक्ष्यादौ ततः कन्यां समुद्वहेत् । सुलक्षणा सदाचारा पत्युरायुर्विवर्धयेत्

lakṣaṇāni parīkṣyādau tataḥ kanyāṃ samudvahet | sulakṣaṇā sadācārā patyurāyurvivardhayet

Nachdem man zuerst die glückverheißenden Merkmale geprüft hat, soll man dann die Jungfrau heiraten. Von einer Frau mit guten Zeichen und tugendhaftem Wandel heißt es, sie mehre die Lebensdauer ihres Gatten.
