Transliteration

vāso bhāgīrathītīre tīrthe vā maraṇaṃ raṇe | aparāṅmukhatā'rthibhyaḥ pratyarthibhyo viśeṣataḥ

Translation

Am Ufer der Bhāgīrathī wohnen, oder am heiligen Furt den Tod finden, oder in der Schlacht fallen; und niemals den Rücken denen kehren, die um Hilfe bitten—zumal angesichts des Gegners—das wird gepriesen als Zeichen von Tapferkeit und Dharma.
