महाव्रताः पुराणज्ञा महादानपरायणाः । निर्द्वेषिणो लोभयुता वेदाध्य यनतत्पराः

Transliteration

mahāvratāḥ purāṇajñā mahādānaparāyaṇāḥ | nirdveṣiṇo lobhayutā vedādhya yanatatparāḥ

Translation

Sie nehmen große Gelübde auf sich, kennen die Purāṇas und sind dem großen Dāna (Schenken) ergeben. Ohne Hass—und doch von Gier berührt—sind sie eifrig im Studium der Veden.
