ब्राह्मणो ब्रह्मतीर्थेन दृष्टिपूताभिराचमेत् । कण्ठगाभिर्नृपः शुध्येत्तालुगाभिस्तथोरुजः
brāhmaṇo brahmatīrthena dṛṣṭipūtābhirācamet | kaṇṭhagābhirnṛpaḥ śudhyettālugābhistathorujaḥ
Ein Brāhmana soll Ācamana mit Wasser vollziehen, das durch seinen Blick geheiligt ist, und dabei das Brahma-tīrtha (die Daumenwurzel) verwenden. Ein König wird rein, wenn das Wasser den Hals erreicht; ebenso ein Vaiśya, wenn es den Gaumen erreicht.
