गतास्ते वृत्तिभाजः स्युर्नान्ये वृत्त्यभिभागिनः । तत्र नैव गता ये वै चातुर्विद्यत्वमागताः
gatāste vṛttibhājaḥ syurnānye vṛttyabhibhāginaḥ | tatra naiva gatā ye vai cāturvidyatvamāgatāḥ
Diejenigen, die dorthin gingen, wurden zu rechtmäßigen Inhabern der zugewiesenen Lebensunterhalte; kein anderer sollte an diesen Ansprüchen teilhaben. Doch wer den Stand des «cāturvidya» erlangt hatte, ging überhaupt nicht dorthin.
