śivapūjāṃtarāyo me jātodya bata pāpmanaḥ | pūjāṃ vinā kṣaṇamapi nāhaṃ jīvitumutsahe
„Weh mir!
Scene: The Śabara, hands clasped, eyes moist, speaks with intense devotion and anguish, as if the very delay of worship is unbearable; a small household shrine sits nearby, unserved.
Steadfast bhakti treats worship as essential; even obstacles are seen as tests to be overcome with renewed sincerity.
No place is specified; the verse glorifies devotion to Śiva through uninterrupted worship.
The importance of performing Śiva-pūjā regularly (nitya-pūjā) is emphasized.
