Skanda Purana — Avanti Khanda, Shloka 26
सर्पा ऊचुः । यथा त्वं जननी चाम्ब सर्वेषां भुवि पूजिता । तथा सापि विशेषेण वञ्चितव्या न मातरः
sarpā ūcuḥ | yathā tvaṃ jananī cāmba sarveṣāṃ bhuvi pūjitā | tathā sāpi viśeṣeṇa vañcitavyā na mātaraḥ
Die Schlangen sprachen: „Mutter — da du, o Mutter, auf Erden von allen verehrt wirst, ist auch sie eine Mutter. Mütter darf man nicht täuschen, erst recht nicht.“
