ईश्वर उवाच । साधु साधु महासत्त्व वरं याचस्व दानव । दाताहं याचकस्त्वं हि ददामीह यथेप्सितम्
īśvara uvāca | sādhu sādhu mahāsattva varaṃ yācasva dānava | dātāhaṃ yācakastvaṃ hi dadāmīha yathepsitam
Īśvara sprach: „Wohl, wohl, o Großherziger. Erbitte eine Gabe, o Dānava. Ich bin der Geber und du der Bittende; hier gewähre ich dir, was du begehrst.“
