किमर्थं कम्पते शैलः किमर्थं कम्पते धरा । किमर्थं कम्पते नागो मर्त्यः पातालमेव च । किं वा युगक्षयो देव तन्ममाख्यातुमर्हसि
kimarthaṃ kampate śailaḥ kimarthaṃ kampate dharā | kimarthaṃ kampate nāgo martyaḥ pātālameva ca | kiṃ vā yugakṣayo deva tanmamākhyātumarhasi
«Warum bebt der Berg? Warum erzittert die Erde? Warum geraten die Nāgas, die Sterblichen und selbst Pātāla ins Beben? Oder ist es, o Herr, das Ende eines Zeitalters? Bitte, verkünde mir dies.»
