Mārkaṇḍeya (continuing narration to Yudhiṣṭhira)
Tirtha: Viśalyā (on Revā)
Type: ghat
Scene: A serene stretch of the great river Revā labeled Viśalyā: a luminous ghat, gentle cremation smoke far away (subtle), animals resting peacefully, and a celestial path upward indicating svarga for beings who pass away there.
A tīrtha’s sanctity is so potent that even death there is portrayed as spiritually auspicious, leading to heavenly attainment.
Viśalyā tīrtha situated on the great river Revā (Narmadā).
No explicit ritual is stated; the verse asserts the phala (result) connected to the place—svarga-gamana even for beings who perish there.
