Transliteration

mārkaṇḍeya uvāca | śṛṇu pārtha mahāpraśnaṃ kathayāmi yathāśrutam | sakāśādbrahmaṇaḥ pūrvamṛṣidevasamāgame

Translation

Mārkaṇḍeya sprach: Höre, o Pārtha, diese große Frage. Ich werde sie darlegen, wie ich sie einst vernahm—von Brahmā selbst, in einer Versammlung von ṛṣis und Göttern.
