Transliteration

dakṣiṇāgreṣu darbheṣu dadyātpiṇḍānvicakṣaṇaḥ | bhūmau cānnena siddhena śrāddhaṃ kṛtvā yathāvidhi

Translation

Der Einsichtige soll die Piṇḍas auf Kuśa-Gras darbringen, dessen Spitzen nach Süden gerichtet sind; und auf dem Boden, mit rechtmäßig gekochter Speise, die Śrāddha-Zeremonie nach Vorschrift vollziehen.
