Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: Concluding assurance about the efficacy of the specified observance (karma/vidhi) in the surrounding passage; not localized to a shrine narrative.
Significance: General: completion (nirvṛtti) of Śiva-observance yields comprehensive attainments—worldly welfare and the capacity for liberation—by removing obstacles (pāśa) through grace.
Role: liberating
It teaches that a properly completed Shaiva observance becomes spiritually “complete” (nirvṛtta) and, by Lord Shiva’s grace, removes the sense of limitation—so the seeker finds no higher goal left to seek beyond liberation and divine fulfillment.
In the Shiva Purana, disciplined worship of Saguna Shiva—especially through Linga-upasana—purifies the pashu (bound soul) and loosens pasha (bonds). When the practice is fulfilled, Shiva’s anugraha (grace) makes the highest attainment possible.
It implies steadfast completion of a prescribed Shiva-vrata or pūjā—typically supported by japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), dhyāna on Shiva, and traditional aids like bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa where applicable.
