Suta Goswami (narrating the Vayu Samhita teachings to the sages)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Role: destructive
Offering: pushpa
It teaches ordered, direction-based worship (dik-pūjā), showing that Saguna Shiva’s sacred powers are approached through mantra, reverence, and inner alignment—turning ritual space into a consecrated field oriented to Īśāna (Shiva’s north-east).
The verse supports Saguna upāsanā by honoring Shiva’s protective energies (symbolized by weapons) around the worship-space; such dik-pūjā is commonly performed to safeguard and sanctify Linga worship before deeper meditation on Shiva as Pati (the Lord).
Perform directional offerings: face each quarter and mentally/ritually honor the trident in the north-east, vajra in the east, axe in the south-east, and arrow in the south—ideally with mantra-japa (e.g., Panchakshara) while establishing Tripuṇḍra-bhasma and steady devotion.
