It links a life-cycle rite (jātakarma) with dhyāna: the child’s entry into life is sanctified by contemplative remembrance and auspicious symbolism, aligning household dharma with the Shaiva aim of purity and right orientation toward Pati (Shiva).
By prescribing visualization with auspicious supports before the rite, it reflects Saguna-oriented practice—using form, symbols, and ritual order to steady the mind—so the family’s actions become offerings that ultimately point toward Shiva as the inner Lord beyond forms.
A brief dhyāna (visualization) of the newborn together with auspicious items, followed by proper performance of the jātakarma saṃskāra; a Shaiva household may accompany this with remembrance of Shiva and recitation of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) as a sanctifying support.
