Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Sthala Purana: Not tied to a Jyotirliṅga; it integrates Sūrya (Bhānu) worship with his āvaraṇas as an auxiliary rite within a Śaiva ritual sequence.
Significance: Acknowledges cosmic regulators (like Sūrya) as subordinate supports to Śiva-worship; aims at sukha and siddhi by aligning with dharmic order.
Mantra: svakholkāya
Role: teaching
Offering: pushpa
It emphasizes sāṅgata worship—performing devotion with proper order and completeness—showing that outer ritual discipline supports inner steadiness, leading to sukha (well-being) and siddhi (successful attainment) under a dharmic framework.
In Shaiva practice, honoring associated deities in their proper place (āvaraṇa-pūjā) complements Saguna worship; it reflects the integrated cosmos under Shiva’s lordship, where subsidiary powers are respected without displacing the supreme Pati (Shiva).
It suggests a formal pūjā to Bhānu along with his āvaraṇas (retinue), accompanied by a specific mantra (“svakholkāya”), performed in correct sequence and with due ritual supports (sāṅgata), aiming at welfare and successful results.
