Puraścaraṇa and the Discipline of the Mantra-Sādhaka

उपमन्युरुवाच । अतः परं प्रवक्ष्यामि साधकं नाम नामतः । संस्कारमन्त्रमाहात्म्यं कथने सूचितं मया

upamanyuruvāca | ataḥ paraṃ pravakṣyāmi sādhakaṃ nāma nāmataḥ | saṃskāramantramāhātmyaṃ kathane sūcitaṃ mayā

Upamanyu sprach: „Von nun an werde ich—dem Namen nach—die Disziplin verkünden, die ‘Sādhaka’ heißt, den Weg des geistigen Übenden. Die heiligenden Riten (saṃskāra) und die Größe der Mantras habe ich im Verlauf dieser Erzählung bereits angedeutet.“
