FAQs

It marks the shift from external ritual (a completed sattra with generous dakṣiṇā) to the arrival of a divine messenger, indicating that higher Shaiva teaching is bestowed by grace and proper lineage of instruction.

In the Shiva Purana’s flow, successful ritual action prepares the ground, but the deeper orientation toward Saguna Shiva (and ultimately the realization of Shiva as Pati) is transmitted through authorized guidance—here symbolized by Vāyu arriving under Brahmā’s mandate.

The verse emphasizes completion of one’s prescribed rites with purity and generosity (dakṣiṇā), followed by attentive listening (śravaṇa) to Shaiva instruction—supporting practices like japa of the Panchakshara and disciplined worship after ritual readiness.
