Cosmic Event: functional emergence of three causal principles for sarga–sthiti–anta (trimūrti as empowered causes)
It establishes Maheśvara (Pati) as the supreme source, from whom the causal powers governing creation, sustenance, and dissolution arise; the seeker turns from mere cosmic processes to the Lord who transcends them and grants liberation.
Linga worship centers the mind on Shiva as the visible sign of the transcendent Lord: even when one contemplates the three functions of the cosmos, the verse directs devotion to their direct source—Maheśvara—who is worshiped as Saguna for grace and realized as the beyond-attributes reality.
Meditate on Shiva as the inner witness of the three states (arising, abiding, dissolving) while repeating the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”; offer water or bilva to the Linga with the intent of surrendering all actions to the supreme cause.
