Sanatkumāra sprach: So von den Göttern unterrichtet, lächelte Vidhi (Brahmā), der Schöpfer der Welten; dann erwiderte er ihnen allen, deren Herzen aus Furcht vor Māyā bebten.

It shows that even the Devas become fearful when divine power manifests beyond their control, while Brahmā—tasked with cosmic order—responds with composure; in Shaiva thought, such fear is resolved by seeking refuge in Pati (Śiva), the supreme regulator beyond all beings.
The verse sets a narrative tone where the gods seek guidance; in the Shiva Purana, this typically culminates in turning toward Saguna Śiva—often approached through the Liṅga—as the accessible focus for protection, grace, and restoration of balance.
A practical takeaway is to steady fear through japa and remembrance—especially the Pañcākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya)—and to cultivate inner composure with reverence (optionally supported by Tripuṇḍra bhasma and Rudrākṣa as Shaiva aids).
