तपसा सत्समो नास्ति न भूतो न भविष्यति । येन यज्ञस्समारब्धो ज्योतिष्टोमो महाविधिः
tapasā satsamo nāsti na bhūto na bhaviṣyati | yena yajñassamārabdho jyotiṣṭomo mahāvidhiḥ
Kein heiliges Verdienst ist der Askese (tapas) gleich—es gab keines in der Vergangenheit und wird keines in der Zukunft geben—denn durch Askese wird das große, streng regelgebundene Jyotiṣṭoma-Opfer erfolgreich begonnen und in Gang gesetzt.
