Role: destructive
It shows the irresistible force of Śiva’s śakti expressed through Vīrabhadra: egoistic sacrificial pride (yajña-ahaṅkāra) is consumed when it stands against devotion and reverence to Pati (Śiva), reminding seekers that outer ritual without inner surrender becomes spiritually barren.
Vīrabhadra acts as Saguna Śiva’s protective and corrective power—defending Śiva-bhakti and restoring cosmic order—thus reinforcing that Linga-worship is not mere formality but honoring Śiva as the indwelling Lord beyond ritual status and social pride.
The takeaway is humility and purification: approach worship with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and sincere japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” restraining anger and ego so one’s inner ‘yajña’ is not burned by passion but illumined by devotion.
