Vīrabhadra and the Battle with the Devas

The verse highlights how divine power (here, Hari’s incomparable tejas) becomes the decisive force in restoring dharma; the “mighty one” re-engaging in battle reflects the Shaiva insight that ego-driven strength is secondary to alignment with the Lord’s will and cosmic order.
Although Shiva is not named in this line, the Purana’s broader Shaiva frame teaches that saguna devotion—seeing the Lord’s manifest power in sacred forms—stabilizes the mind and turns action into dharmic service; such remembrance is akin to worshiping Shiva through the Linga as the visible support (ālambana) for inner surrender.
A practical takeaway is to cultivate steadiness before action through japa of the Panchakshara ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and mental offering of one’s strength to the Lord, so that courage becomes disciplined and dharma-aligned rather than impulsive.
