द्वारि स्थिता गणास्सर्वे रसायुतमिता रुषा । शंकरस्य प्रभोस्ते वाऽकुध्यन्नतिमहाबलाः
dvāri sthitā gaṇāssarve rasāyutamitā ruṣā | śaṃkarasya prabhoste vā'kudhyannatimahābalāḥ
Am Eingang stehend gerieten all jene mächtigen Gaṇas—von Zorn aufgewühlt und entflammt—in rasende Wut; denn sie waren die überaus kraftvollen Gefolgsleute des Herrn Śaṅkara, ihres Gebieters.

The verse highlights the protective, disciplined force of Śiva’s Gaṇas—symbols of divine order that safeguards the sanctity of the Lord’s presence. In Shaiva thought, proximity to Pati (Śiva) demands purity and reverence; agitation arises when dharma at the threshold is threatened.
The image of Gaṇas stationed at the door reflects the principle that Saguna Śiva’s sacred space is approached through proper conduct and devotion. In Linga-worship too, the devotee honors boundaries—entering the shrine with humility, cleanliness, and mantra—recognizing the Lord as Prabhu (Master).
A practical takeaway is gatekeeping the mind before worship: perform ācamana and mental purification, apply Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) if initiated, and steady the breath while repeating the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” approaching the shrine with restraint rather than agitation.
