शिवानुकम्पा, ब्रह्मणो निर्भयत्वं च (Śiva’s Compassion and Brahmā’s Fearlessness)

FAQs

The verse teaches a Shaiva principle: remembrance, narration, and kīrtana of Shiva-related sacred observances generate inner purity. The more sincerely one proclaims the rite, the more the bonds of sin are attenuated, preparing the soul (paśu) for Shiva’s grace (anugraha).

In Saguna Shiva worship—especially Linga devotion—glorifying the prescribed vrata, pūjā, and Shiva’s greatness is itself a limb of bhakti. The verse affirms that such kīrtana is not merely storytelling; it functions as a purifying act that supports Linga-upāsanā and steady devotion.

Regular recitation and sharing (kīrtana) of Shiva-vrata narratives—ideally alongside mantra-japa such as the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—is implied as a practical takeaway for purification.
