Hymn to Devī Yogānidrā and the Manifestation of Caṇḍikā
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Umā
Role: liberating
The verse establishes Umā as Śiva’s Śakti and shows that true approach to the Divine in Shaiva Siddhanta begins with bhakti, humility, and reverent prostration before offering praise.
It supports Saguna worship by emphasizing visible, approachable divinity—Śiva together with Śakti—where devotion (pranāma and stotra) becomes a direct means to grace, just as in Linga worship.
It points to devotional upāsanā: perform respectful pranāma (namaskāra/prostration) and recite stotras with focused mind; this pairs naturally with japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) in Shaiva practice.
