विष्णोर्दर्शनं स्तुतिश्च
Viṣṇu’s Manifestation and Brahmā’s Hymn
इत्थं विचार्य बहुधा तदाहं विमदो मुने । हरिं तं सोऽस्मरं भक्त्या शिवात्मानं स्वदेहदम्
itthaṃ vicārya bahudhā tadāhaṃ vimado mune | hariṃ taṃ so'smaraṃ bhaktyā śivātmānaṃ svadehadam
Sūta Gosvāmī (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya, within the Rudra Saṃhitā discourse)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
It teaches that clear discernment (vicāra) culminates in bhakti-filled remembrance, where delusion falls away and the seeker recognizes the one Supreme Lord as Śiva-tattva, the liberating Pati who grants Himself to the devotee.
The verse emphasizes smaraṇa (devotional recollection) of the Lord’s true nature; in practice, this is supported through saguna worship such as Śiva-liṅga pūjā, where the mind is gathered and fixed on Śiva as the indwelling reality even when names like “Hari” appear.
A direct takeaway is bhakti-smaraṇa—daily remembrance/meditation on Śiva, supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and focused worship (arcana) to steady the mind and remove confusion.
