Reception of the Auspicious Marriage Invitation
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Naṭarāja
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga passage; it portrays Kailāsa as the archetypal divine court where Śiva’s gaṇas celebrate the imminent Śiva-Śakti union.
Significance: Invokes the devotional imagination of Kailāsa-utsava: contemplating Śiva’s joyous expectancy and the gaṇas’ dance is held to generate bhakti and auspiciousness (maṅgala).
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
Offering: pushpa
It portrays Śiva’s compassionate, accessible Saguna aspect—where divine love and auspicious joy become the atmosphere of the cosmos, showing that devotion culminates in a living, celebratory presence of the Lord.
Though the Liṅga points to the formless (Nirguṇa) reality, this verse highlights Saguna Śiva—personally present, receptive, and relational—affirming that Liṅga-worship can mature into intimate bhakti where the devotee experiences Śiva’s nearness.
Adopt celebratory bhakti: chant the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with kīrtana-like joy, and offer simple upacāras (lamp, water, bilva) in a festive, grateful mood—mirroring the gaṇas’ devotion.
