Nachdem du immer wieder laut Worte glückverheißenden Sieges ausgerufen hattest, priesest du jenen Herrn; und, o Weiser, batest du demütig um Seine Weisung über das rechte Ritual.
Brahmā (narrating within the Pārvatīkhaṇḍa context)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Mantra: (implied) jaya jaya / sujaya-śabdāḥ
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
Offering: pushpa
It highlights the Shaiva Siddhanta spirit of approaching Pati (Shiva) with devotion and humility—praise (stuti) purifies the heart, and sincere seeking of guidance (nideśa) aligns one’s worship with dharma and right practice (vidhi).
The verse reflects Saguna-upāsanā: the devotee praises the Lord with voiced acclamation and then requests the correct method of worship. In Linga worship too, stotra and prayer naturally precede learning the prescribed vidhi for offerings and contemplation.
Repeated sacred utterance (jaya-śabda) and stotra, followed by seeking and following the proper worship procedure—practically, this supports mantra-japa (such as the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) performed with obedience to Shiva’s instructed vidhi.
