Himavān’s Auspicious Festival Preparations and City Adornment

It highlights that sacred events are approached through purity (sprinkled paths), order, and maṅgala—outer auspiciousness reflecting inner readiness for devotion to Shiva and the grace that follows dharmic preparation.
The verse mirrors the way devotees prepare a shrine for Saguna Shiva—cleaning, sanctifying, and adorning the space—so the mind becomes steady and receptive to Shiva’s presence, often centered on the Linga as the focal form of worship.
Maintain śauca (cleanliness) and maṅgala in worship: cleanse the worship area, arrange offerings, and then perform mantra-japa (e.g., Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with a composed, welcoming mind.
