Pārvatī’s Vow of Truth and the Dialogue on Her Tapas
Himavat (Himālaya), father of Pārvatī

Shakti Form: Pārvatī

It highlights that worldly judgments based on “rūpa” (external form and social compatibility) can oppose divine destiny; Pārvatī’s choice points to devotion and inner recognition of Śiva (Pati) beyond appearances.
The Linga and Saguna forms teach devotees to look past surface attributes and perceive Śiva as the supreme reality; the verse mirrors that movement from outward assessment to acceptance of Śiva’s true greatness.
A practical takeaway is steadfast sankalpa with Śiva-bhakti—daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” supported by simple Linga-pūjā with bhasma or rudrākṣa as aids to unwavering devotion.
