Śiva-nāma-smaraṇa and Śambhu’s Protective Manifestation
Dāruka Episode
पार्वत्युवाच । भवदीयं वचस्तथ्यं युगांते संभविष्यति । तावच्च तामसी सृष्टिर्भवत्विति मतं मम
pārvatyuvāca | bhavadīyaṃ vacastathyaṃ yugāṃte saṃbhaviṣyati | tāvacca tāmasī sṛṣṭirbhavatviti mataṃ mama
Pārvatī sprach: „Deine Worte sind wahr; am Ende des Yuga werden sie gewiss in Erfüllung gehen. Bis dahin möge die Schöpfung im Modus des Tamas verbleiben — dies ist meine wohlüberlegte Ansicht.“

It acknowledges the certainty of cosmic timing (yuga-anta) and highlights that worldly manifestation can remain tamasic until the destined turning-point, implying that liberation depends on turning to Pati (Śiva) beyond the gunas rather than expecting the world to become pure by itself.
If creation remains tamasic, the accessible refuge is Saguna Śiva worship—especially the Linga as a stable focus—through which devotees purify the mind and transcend tamas, moving toward the grace of Śiva who is ultimately beyond all gunas.
A practical takeaway is to counter tamas with daily Shiva-sadhana: japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), wearing Rudraksha, and applying Tripundra (bhasma) with remembrance of Śiva, cultivating clarity and devotion amid a tamasic world.
