FAQs

It presents a Saguna contemplation of Shiva: crystal-like purity (transparent consciousness), the crescent moon (cool grace and mastery over time), and the three eyes (knowledge that burns ignorance), guiding the devotee toward liberation through reverent meditation.

The verse supports Saguna upasana—visualizing Shiva’s auspicious marks (Chandrashekhara, Trinetra). Such dhyana steadies the mind, which in Shaiva Siddhanta becomes a means to approach the Linga as the manifest sign of Pati (the Lord).

Practice Shiva-dhyana: meditate on the serene, crystal-bright Lord with the crescent moon and three eyes while repeating the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), cultivating calmness and inner clarity.
