अग्निमग्निं वः समिधा दुवस्यत प्रियम्प्रियं वो अतिथिं गृणीषणि । उप वो गीर्भिरमृतं विवासत देवो देवेषु वनते हि वार्यं देवो देवेषु वनते हि नो दुवः ॥

agním agníṃ vaḥ samídhā duvasyata priyáṃpriyaṃ vo átithiṃ gṛṇīṣaṇi | úpa vo gīrbhír amṛ́taṃ vivāsata devó devéṣu vánate hí vā́ryaṃ devó devéṣu vánate hí no dúvaḥ ||

Agni um Agni dient ihr mit dem Brennholz der Entzündung; besingt den geliebten Gast, euch stets lieb. Mit euren Liedern tretet heran, bereitet dem Unsterblichen Raum: der Gott erringt unter den Göttern die begehrten Gaben; der Gott erringt unter den Göttern unseren Dienst — und seine Erfüllung.
