Transliteration

abhūd devaḥ savitā vandyo nu na idānīm ahna upa-vācyo nṛbhiḥ | vi yo ratnā bhajati mānavebhyaḥ śreṣṭhaṃ no atra draviṇaṃ yathā dadhat ||

Translation

Nun ist der Gott Savitṛ für uns wahrhaft verehrungswürdig geworden, heute, an diesem Tag, von den Menschen anzurufen. Er, der die Schätze (ratná) den Sterblichen zuteilt: möge er hier in uns das vortrefflichste Gut einsetzen — Fülle an Besitz und Kraft.
