अच्छा वो देवीमुषसं विभातीं प्र वो भरध्वं नमसा सुवृक्तिम् । ऊर्ध्वं मधुधा दिवि पाजो अश्रेत्प्र रोचना रुरुचे रण्वसंदृक् ॥
ácchā vo devī́m uṣásaṃ vi-bhātī́ṃ prá vo bharadhvaṃ námasā su-vṛktím | ūrdhvám madhudhā́ diví pā́jo aśret prá rocanā́ ruruce raṇvá-sandṛk ||
Zur strahlenden Göttin Uṣas, zur aufleuchtenden Morgenröte, bringt vor—mit ehrfürchtiger Verneigung—den wohlgefügten, kunstvoll geflochtenen Hymnus. Ihr honigtragender Glanz ist empor in den Himmel gestiegen; die lichten Räume leuchten auf—sie, von wonnigem Blick, hat die Welten erhellt.
