वसुं न चित्रमहसं गृणीषे वामं शेवमतिथिमद्विषेण्यम् । स रासते शुरुधो विश्वधायसोऽग्निर्होता गृहपतिः सुवीर्यम् ॥

vásuṃ na citrám-ahasaṃ gṛṇīṣe vāmáṃ śévam-átithim adviṣeṇyám | sá rāsate śurúdho viśvá-dhāyaso ’gnír hotā́ gṛhá-patiḥ su-vī́ryam ||

Agni besinge ich — reich wie ein Schatz, von vielfacher Pracht; gütig, begehrenswert, den Gast, der ohne Hass ist. Er schenkt die stürmischen Ströme der Fülle von überall her — Agni, der Hotar, der Opferpriester, der Herr des Hauses, der die Kraft edler Heldenhaftigkeit bringt.
