त्वं वृथा नद्य इन्द्र सर्तवेऽच्छा समुद्रमसृजो रथाँ इव वाजयतो रथाँ इव । इत ऊतीरयुञ्जत समानमर्थमक्षितम् । धेनूरिव मनवे विश्वदोहसो जनाय विश्वदोहसः ॥
tváṃ vṛ́thā nadyà indra sártave ácchā samudrám asṛ́jo rathā́m̐-iva vājayató rathā́m̐-iva | itá ūtī́r ayuñjata samānám ártham ákṣitam | dhenū́r-iva mánave viśvá-dohaso jánāya viśvá-dohasaḥ ||
Nicht vergebens, o Indra, ließest du die Flüsse frei, ihren Lauf zum Ozean zu nehmen – wie Wagen, zum Preis angetrieben, wie Wagen. Daraus spannten sich die hilfreichen Mächte an zu einem gemeinsamen, unerschöpflichen Ziel. Wie Milchkühe, die ringsumher Milch geben, ergießen sie ihre Fülle für den Menschen, für das Volk – allseitig spendend.
