मन्दस्तुभ्रातरंभग्नंदृष्टवातत्रमहाहवे ।लभिदुद्राववेगेनप्रगृह्यमहतींशिलाम् ।।।।
maindaḥ tu bhrātaraṃ bhagnaṃ dṛṣṭvā tatra mahāhave |
abhidudrāva vegena pragṛhya mahatīṃ śilām ||
Als Mainda in jener großen Schlacht seinen Bruder niedergestreckt sah, stürmte er voller Eile heran und ergriff einen gewaltigen Felsen.
Seeing the brother shattered in the great combat, Mainda on his part seizing a huge rock rushed swiftly.
Dharma here appears as loyalty and protective duty toward one’s kin and allies—Mainda responds immediately upon seeing his brother harmed.
In the Laṅkā battle, Mainda sees his brother (Dvīvida) struck down and charges toward the enemy with a rock.
Courage and fraternal devotion—swift action taken to defend one’s own in crisis.
