Sarga 76: Angada and the Vanara chiefs battle Kampana, Prajaṅgha, Yūpākṣa, Śoṇitākṣa; Kumbha enters and is checked by Sugrīva
पाक्षमभिसङ्कृद्धो मैन्दो वानरयूथपः ।पीडयामासबाहुभ्यांसपपातहतःक्षितौ ।।।।
pākṣam abhisaṅkṛddhō maindō vānarayūthapaḥ |
pīḍayāmāsa bāhubhyāṃ sa papāta hataḥ kṣitau ||
Von Zorn entbrannt presste Mainda —der Anführer des Vānara-Heeres— Pākṣa mit seinen Armen nieder und zermalmte ihn; und Pākṣa fiel tot zu Boden.
Vanara leader, Mainda on his part, angrily pierced Yupaksha many times who fell on the ground dead.
It reinforces the battlefield duty to neutralize a dangerous opponent. Within yuddha-dharma, force is employed to prevent further harm and protect the righteous cause.
Mainda, angered in the thick of battle, overpowers and kills the rākṣasa Pākṣa by crushing him with his arms.
Bala (physical strength) directed by protective intent in war.
