The Slaying of Kumbhakarna
।6.67.115।। ।6.67.116।।
Kumbhakarna of mighty strength, the night ranger hearing Lakshmana, rather disregarding his words, overlooking him went alone towards Rama as if shaking the earth.
The repetition in the Southern Recension underscores narrative emphasis: reckless force that ignores rightful admonition is portrayed as ethically flawed and self-destructive.
The text repeats the description of Kumbhakarṇa ignoring Lakṣmaṇa and charging at Rāma.
Rāma’s role as the decisive protector; Lakṣmaṇa’s warning presence is treated as something Kumbhakarṇa arrogantly dismisses.
